Our team

Who you will actually see.

Two psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and counsellors — the same people, over time. Continuity matters more in mental health than in almost any other kind of medicine.

Doctors

Dr. Adwait Padhye

M.D., D.P.M.

Consultant Psychiatrist & Director

President, Manodaya Trust

Leads the psychiatric practice and the trust’s public mental-health work, and presents the centre’s Marathi talks and films.

Dr. Mrs. Pallavi Padhye

Consultant Anaesthesiologist

Anaesthesia for modified ECT

Treasurer, Manodaya Trust

Electroconvulsive therapy at Manas is given in its modified form, under anaesthesia — which is why an anaesthesiologist is part of the permanent team rather than called in.

Counsellors

The people who do most of the talking therapy — individual, family, marital and child work, and who run the support groups.

Shrimati Geeta P. Mondkar

Counsellor

Mrs. Rajashree Deepak Joshi

Mrs. Smita Ganesh Malpathak

The centre and Manodaya Trust, Dombivli share the same premises and much of the same people. The clinic treats; the trust does the public work — parents’ schools, awareness sessions, support groups and the annual award function.

Dr. Adwait Padhye is Director of the centre and President of the trust. Smt. Geeta Mondkar is Secretary and a counsellor. Dr. Pallavi Padhye, an anaesthesiologist, is Treasurer — and gives the anaesthesia for modified ECT, which is why the centre can offer it on its own premises rather than referring it out.
