Mi Ashtapailu 6.0 — Final Round
For: Finalists
The final round of Season 6.
Manodaya Trust · community work
Most of what determines whether a person gets help is decided long before they reach a psychiatrist — in families, schools and workplaces. The trust works there.

Mi Ashtapailu · मी अष्टपैलू
Now in its sixth season, Mi Ashtapailu is built on the idea that intelligence is not one thing to be ranked. It works through eight of them — musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, verbal-linguistic, logical-mathematical, naturalistic, intrapersonal and visual-spatial — and asks students of Std 7 to 9 to find out which are theirs.
It is run as a contest with rounds and a final, and described by its organisers as an experience rather than a competition — which, for children being measured against each other everywhere else, is the point of it.
Beyond the dated events, three programmes run continuously.
A school for parents — sessions on raising children, handling adolescence, and the questions parents are afraid to ask out loud.
Public awareness work, taking mental health out of the clinic and into the community.
Workshops and group sessions for schools, workplaces and the general public.
Kept here so you can see the sort of thing the trust runs, and ask to be told about the next one.
