Personal care is regulated as cosmetics under the Cosmetics Rules, 2020, and a listing has to carry the net quantity, batch number, expiry date and manufacturer’s name and address off the actual pack. Those change with every batch that arrives, so the only honest way to publish them is from the shelf, with the packet in hand.
