Standing up again is a measurement, not a miracle.

Artificial limbs, callipers and braces, diabetic footwear and mobility aids — measured on the person who has to wear them, made to that measurement, and adjusted until they can be worn all day. Fitting people across Kalyan, Dombivli, Ulhasnagar and Thane since 2006.

Six things made and fitted here.

Each is a page rather than a line, because somebody arrives needing one of them specifically and should not have to read about the other five first.

Ankle-foot orthoses and below-knee prostheses finished and standing on the workshop shelf at Sawant Meditronic Orthocraft
Finished work, on the shelf here.Callipers on the left, below-knee limbs on the right. The components — the feet, the joints, the hardware — are manufactured, and any fitter can order them. The sockets and the shells beside them are the part made to one person’s measurements, and they are the part that decides whether the whole thing gets worn every day or ends up in a cupboard.

What an artificial limb can and cannot do.

An artificial limb or a brace does not cure a condition and does not restore a body to what it was. What it can restore is function — standing, walking, getting to work, managing stairs, using a hand. How much comes back depends on the person, the level of the amputation or the weakness, general health, and how much walking practice is put in after the fitting. That is a conversation to have honestly at the first visit rather than a promise to make on a website.

Information, not advice. This site describes the work of an orthotics and prosthetics practice and is published for information. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for seeing your doctor or surgeon. Whether a particular limb, brace or appliance is right for you depends on your own examination and on your treating doctor’s opinion.

Who does the work.

One practitioner, and the same person each time — which is worth more in this trade than it sounds, because the fit of a socket is a judgement built up over visits.

🕐 Before you travel

Open Monday to Friday, 10 to 2 and 6 to 8, and Sunday morning. Closed Saturday, and closed through the afternoon on weekdays — worth checking against your journey.

Not a doctor, and no claim to be one — an orthotist-prosthetist is a different profession altogether. Your surgeon decides the treatment; this is where the appliance that follows it is made and fitted. More about the practice →

Come and be measured

Bring the doctor’s letter and whatever you already use. The first visit is an assessment — nothing is made until you have been told what it will be and what it will cost.
