A corner shop that kept adding kitchens

It began as juice, snacks and ice cream on a Dombivli corner. It is now a family restaurant with twelve kitchens and a licence on the wall — and it never once put meat on the menu.

The two names

You may know this shop as Nukkad — Juice, Snacks and Ice Cream Baar. That is the same restaurant, at the same address, on the same telephone — the name is still on much of the artwork and on the shop’s own masthead. The current trading name is Nukkad Junction — The Pure Veg Resto, and that is what it is listed under here.

The older name is worth knowing because it explains the menu. The juice counter, the milkshakes, the falooda and the ice cream came first; the pav bhaji tawa came next; the Chinese, the pizza oven, the tandoor and the sizzler plates came after that. Nothing was dropped along the way, which is why one kitchen now serves 402 dishes across 12 sections.

Six things worth knowing

Pure vegetarian, all 402 dishes

Not "vegetarian options" — the whole kitchen. The name says it, the logo carries the green mark, and every single dish on the menu is marked veg.

A Jain menu that is actually a menu

No onion and no garlic, cooked as its own thing rather than left out at the end: Jain pav bhaji, Jain tawa pulao, Jain grilled sandwich, and fasting food when Navratri comes round.

Twelve kitchens under one roof

Pav bhaji and tawa pulao from the street stall it started as, then Chinese, Thai, pizza, pasta, sizzlers, tandoor, biryani, shakes, juices, mocktails and falooda.

Air-conditioned, and built for families

The shop describes itself as a family restaurant with air-conditioned seating — and lists a children’s menu on its Google entry.

Licensed, and the number is on the page

FSSAI licence 11525021000226, printed on the shop’s own listing. You should be able to see one before you order, so here it is.

Questions people ask

Is everything vegetarian?
Yes. Every one of the 402 dishes on the menu carries the green vegetarian mark, and the restaurant trades as “The Pure Veg Resto”. There is no non-vegetarian section and no egg on the menu.
Do you have Jain food?
Yes, and not as an afterthought. Jain pav bhaji, cheese Jain pav bhaji, a special Jain pav bhaji, Jain tawa pulao in three versions and a Jain veg cheese grill sandwich are all on the menu — no onion, no garlic.
What time do you open and close?
Please ring the shop on +91 90761 16615. We are not printing a closing time here because the shop’s own listings disagree about it — Google says 11 p.m., Swiggy says midnight, and one of the shop’s own reels says 3 a.m. Rather than send you to a closed shutter, we would rather you ask.
Are these the prices I pay at the table?
They are the shop’s delivery prices, taken from its Swiggy listing. Eating in or collecting is often cheaper, so ring and check before a large order.
Do you deliver?
The shop says it delivers free within one kilometre, and is also on the usual delivery apps. For anything further out, ring and ask — how far a delivery goes is the shop’s call, not ours.
Where exactly are you?

Where this page got its facts

The menu and prices come from the restaurant’s own online ordering listing. The address, the ordering number and the licence number come from that listing and its Google entry, which agree. The founding year, the air conditioning, the delivery radius and the Jain menu come from the restaurant’s own website at nukkadrestaurant.com. The photographs and films are the restaurant’s own.

Two things are deliberately absent. There are no opening hours, because three sources give three different closing times and the restaurant’s own site gives none. There is no star rating, because Google and the delivery app disagree about that too — and a score repeated on a marketplace by the marketplace is not really a review.
